Electrical engineering covers electrical energy, electronic circuits, sensing, signals, controls and communications. It is a foundation of modern robotics because robots depend on actuators, power electronics, embedded sensors and electrical control systems. [1]

Hardware components

A robotic platform may use motor drives, power supplies, encoders, inertial sensors, cameras and embedded control boards. Selection involves load requirements, electrical noise, thermal limits and physical safety. [2]

Control and communication

Feedback loops use measurements to adjust motion or process variables. Networks and timing arrangements allow computing units, controllers and devices to exchange information, sometimes under hard reliability constraints. [3]

Relation to physical AI

AI models can influence control decisions, but physical limits remain governed by engineering constraints. Designers therefore connect software validation with sensing accuracy, electrical protection, environmental testing and emergency mechanisms. [4]
